Review on 🐄 Coway Airmega AP-1512HH True HEPA Air Purifier Filter - 1-Year Replacement Pack, White by Jeff Bremmer

Like many other people who have written reviews about the chemical odor problem. Here's what happened to me and what happened after I spoke to the manufacturer. 1) I bought a replacement filter from Revain and like many others it had a strong chemical odor 2) After emailing Coway support I told them about the problem and they said the filters were a bit exposed (without giving specifics on what and how) but they didn't think it was poisonous and that Revain knows about it so I have to ask for a replacement. I had to attach a screenshot of the receipt as proof of purchase. 3) I have explained the problem to Revain support. No mention of exposure or odor but they sent me a return label and a replacement. 4) This second filter still had an odor, but it was much less. Still concerned, I contacted Coway again and informed them that the problem was still not resolved with the new filter, described the problem in more detail, and (at their request) provided other information such as my name, address, Photos of the filter available within 1512HH and serial number 1512HH and they will consider sending a replacement. 5) I got a replacement from Coway and the filter had very little odor but was much, much better than the Revain two. However, the plastic packaging around the filter was slightly different as it had a yellow information label (with a plastic removal chart) and the plastic packaging had a glue valve that could be opened and closed again. There were also a few wrinkles on one side of the filter itself, possibly from constant pressure or impact, or from being touched. I'm not sure of the exact reason, but none of the filters (including the original filter that came with the 1512HH) have these creases. So I can't say for sure if this filter was treated in any way to remove the odor before it was shipped to me, or if the filter withstood some pressure during storage or shipping, but I can at least say, that they do addressed my concerns and sent me one that barely smells. Another observation is that the marking printed on the filters is different (as shown in the photo). Also, it came in the same box as the Revain filters but only had 1 anti-odor filter instead of 2. A final observation is that I continued to use the second, less smelly, Revain filter. I tolerated the smell because I live in an area prone to wildfire smoke and didn't have much of a choice while texting Coway waiting for a replacement. I can't tell if this was the right move in terms of potential toxicity, but I made the decision for myself. The smell eventually went away but it will definitely last a few weeks of regular use/airing.
