We suspected at home that our 10 year old Apple AirPort Extreme was causing Wi-Fi problems on the top floor of our home. Since we only used it as a WiFi hotspot, we figured we were getting the latest and greatest WiFi 6 hotspot that would keep us going for another 10 years. Unfortunately, the WAX610 is not. Regardless of how we set it up, the speed test with the WAX610 is around 30-50Mbps. This is after it's connected to 5GHz. When we plug the AirPort Extreme back in, we get around 100-120 Mbps. We have 140 Mbps internet so 120 should be fine. Speed aside, I also don't care that the only way to set up this device is to use NetGear Insight with a subscription service (first year free). As a result, starting after a restart takes about 10 minutes, since its configuration is loaded every time. There's no way to set it up via desktop, and you'll have to use a smartphone app. From a functional perspective, it's nice that you can configure VLANs and such, but if bandwidth isn't being sent to the client, why bother? I will return the item accordingly.
