Works well, minimal mess

Edit: 08/14/21: The part that seals the unit and keeps the water inside broke off on the plastic hinges today and I can't reattach it. The hinges are broken, I can still take it off and put it back on, but very carefully. It's a shame, I really liked this device. First review: I used another unbranded water image I got from Vine a few years ago. It works but it squirts water all over the place to the point I have to put it in the sink to use it! almost no mess. If the manufacturer is telling the truth, 1 charge should be enough for 80 days of use. It is great. The only downside: the perio tip gives the water a rubbery taste that hasn't disappeared or even diminished even after repeated use. The standard handpiece does not have this problem (only 4 handpieces/nozzles). The perio tip also doesn't seem to go under my gums like I'm used to. One thing to note isn't mentioned in the instruction manual: To use it, you have to pull the top up from the bottom. This is not mentioned and only became apparent after trying to figure out why the device was not working. It's easy to do once I've learned about it. Although it's been years (decades?) since I've used the original Water Pic, it's a huge improvement over the offshoot I used. Easy to hold, easy to use and works very well. There are 3 intensity/speed settings. I'll be using it way more often than what I had because it's not difficult and doesn't require a lot of cleaning. I like it! I gave it 1 star for the rubbery taste; it concerns me.

Pros
  • Dental floss and floss
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
