Review on Fel Pro TOS 18755 Automatic Transmission by Brian Thuo

Correct number of holes but leaking no sealant

This Felpro gasket fits our 2011 Suzuki SX4 CVT Transmission. But it is softer than the original pad. It has 18 screw holes and two more dowel holes. This JATCO JF011E CVT is also used in some other Nissan, Jeep, Mitsubishi and Dodge calibers. I cleaned very well the surface of the gearbox and the surface of the oil pan where the gasket goes. Use nail polish thinner as a final wipe to remove all of the oil before reassembling. Hand-tighten each screw a little to raise the pallet evenly, then tighten each screw a little to specification. Filled the transmission with CVT fluid and then looked under the car to see if there were any leaks. It was already dripping from the back of the pot. I took it apart again, it turned out that the seal was worn out where it flows. Since a new OEM gasket (actually made out of thin metal) costs about $50 or more, I decided to buy another one of these Felpro gaskets from my local parts store because they offered a 20% discount. But this time I first coated the gasket with Permatex Blue RTV caulk/sealant following the directions on the tube. It seems to have worked. If the leak starts again I doubt I'll buy another Felpro and spend 50 on a real original instead.
