I bought 2 collars and a remote control to train two dogs. They are stubborn little fags who want to go their own way and don't listen at all, plus they love to jump up on me and any visitor and ask for a pat. I bought this brand because of the range. We live on a farm so I thought a polygon would be useful and it has been as long as I don't let the dogs escape from me and go into the woods or even the bushes as that seems to break the connection. One day one of the dogs came into the woods and the collar didn't seem to respond to the remote control. I could see my dog through the trees and never saw the collar flash back when I pressed the button on the remote. My dog eventually slipped out of sight and disappeared. When he finally returned home, he was not wearing a collar. Somehow he came out of his collar! There was no one there who could take it from him. We went into the forest to try to find him. We do not have. It's really lost. I have no idea how he did it. We make sure the collars don't sag so they fit exactly as they should. I don't understand how that could have happened. But dogs respond very well to collars and behave much better. The only problem I have is that the tips slip off the points too easily. They slip off while I try to put the collar on the dog! Funny how they don't fit better. I have already lost all the tips that came with the collars. We now use the collar which is left without the spikes but as we don't wear the collar on our dog for more than an hour twice a day and I didn't have to use the shock function I don't see it as a problem. I test dogs to make sure they don't have sore spots when using a collar without a loop, and they don't. But I really hate doing this just because tooltips aren't meant to stay in place. For that 4 instead of 5 stars.
