Be patient, methodical, use online videos and you will be fine.

Suburban 2004 Rear left power window. The old man grabbed the upward direction. My dad and I had a similar problem with his 2006 Suburban, so that helped me get going faster with the 2004.1. Use online videos to see what's going on. It takes a bit of fiddling to remove the old build and install the new build. But once it all comes together, you'll be glad you took the challenge.2. Security - Secure the glass in the UP position with tape, wedges in wiper tape, or other. All parts of the door AND controller assembly are razor sharp. It's okay if you move carefully - get angry and start crushing the Hulk and you'll get cuts. Save ALL old nuts/bolts - label and sort carefully. Dorman comes with 2 x 10mm screws for the top brackets. You will need to reuse many of the bottom mounting bolts and nuts for reassembly.4. Two snags for me because I don't remember the order of things: 1. Check the harness route to the motor assembly - slightly wrong - take a picture before taking things apart. 2. Inner Door Handle Pull Rod - Make sure you thread it properly through the moisture barrier BEFORE reinstalling the moisture barrier. After installing the Dorman controller everything works correctly. Not sure about reliability. This would be just one of the many things to worry about in a 16 year old car. I think this is a good replacement build that will help extend the life of your full size GM truck/SUV.
