I bought this item to replace my 17 inch desktop computer. It's big and heavy, but I like its power. However when I was looking for something like this laptop stand I was concerned that I wouldn't find one big enough and strong enough for my laptop. Yes, my laptop dangles a few inches on either side of this thing, but it's incredibly durable. The description says it will hold 40 pounds and I believe it! This is perfect for me. Of course, if you're looking for something that lets you adjust your laptop up and down with a swipe of your finger, this isn't for you. It's quite difficult to move, but once you find a position and angle that you like, it stays there forever.
