Review on Buon Vino Mini Jet Filter by Lisa Chandler

After buying this product 3 months ago and using it several times, I can now write my review. I've read of others who have had bad experiences with leaking filters and lost most of the wine. It was actually my first experience. However, in order not to despair and believe that there must be a reason for my failure, I tried again. On my second try, I bought new #2 filters and tried them with water. It worked like a charm. But how do you do that with wine? The Merlot batch I make has reached the point where it can be bottled. I poured it into another bottle and saw that some sediment remained at the bottom. I decided to try the filter, knowing full well that the wine needs to be as particle-free as possible before it goes through the filter. I followed the same procedure as with the watercourse and it worked great. No questions. While I think I followed the instructions the first time I tried it, I may have missed something. First, it could be that I didn't alternate hand-tightening the filter knobs one at a time. Another possibility is that the original filters that came with the machine were old. I'm not sure but now it's working like clockwork and I couldn't be happier.
