Review on Gingher 3.5 Inch Lion's Tail Embroidery Scissors with Gold Handles - Top Quality Crafting Tool (01-005870) by Tara Ford

I must have gotten one from the same batch as a few other reviewers who gave it 2 stars. The tip is nice and sharp and comes with a protective case, but I kept reaching for the old broken tip I bought to replace because it was too tight. I tried to loosen the screw but stopped because he was stripping the screw. GOOD, because upon closer inspection I realized that this is not the problem. The GOLD PAINT on the hilt was awash and penetrated the joint where the blades meet as if it had been sunk too deep. I took a file and filed where the gold paint covered the joint. See photo, the file shows what I'm talking about. Now the scissors work normally as they should. Problem solved (so I gave it 3 stars instead of 2) but quality control is sloppy, especially for something made in Italy and not China. Gingher should do better for a little PR scissors with a list price of $20.90.
