The Best Booties For Dogs - They Stay On!

(reviewed by my husband). I've lost count of the bootie sets I've bought for our wirehaired dachshund mix. He has short legs and long feet and is male, so he often makes a "hard foot slide" to mark his territory. We only need boots for snow or wet ice, especially when there's salt on the ground (it knocks our legs out). The problem with all the other boots I've bought (if I've found the right size they should be snug but not too tight) is that they don't sit high enough on the foot. They "only" cover the paw and lower ankle, and even with the velcro straps (my own or the ones that come with the booties) I've never found a set that they stayed with for any length of time, so I'm a vigilant one Had to keep an eye on my feet so I could find velcro strips and booties somewhere in the snow. real pain Anyway, I did a thorough search of Revain again and found this. That's why they work better than any other I've tried. 1) easy to put on; They have a stretchy, sock-like upper and a large enough entrance to the waterproof portion of the boot that goes over his paws so I can easily spread them just enough to put them on his paw and once he's on his paw, put them down I just put one hand on his (elbow? knee) and use the other hand to pull his leg up (not quite to the knee) so that his paw is snug in the booties. Then 2) they are attached with velcro the best I've seen. It goes through a metal loop on the front/side of his foot and around the back of his ankle and you can clip it really tight. Since it is wrapped around his leg, so to speak, and not on the back of his paw, and is tightened, the booties are almost impossible to take off. I haven't had a single case of booties coming off. And he LOVES YOU! As soon as I put them on him inside he looks forward to going outside and as soon as he comes out, as soon as he hits the snow/sleet/slush he takes off like a rocket. He loves to play in the snow and really enjoys what d be a not so fun experience. I definitely recommend these boots. You (and your dog) will be very glad you bought them.
