Review on Sterilite 2.6 Gallon Ultra Step-On Wastebasket, Black Lid and Base with Titanium Pedal and Liner, 2-Pack by Jennifer Redmond

A basket with a canopy is an irreplaceable thing in a house where a very curious cat lives. For a few years now, I've mainly bought metal trash cans. However, I find that small metal trash cans are not as good as large ones. First, some of them are so small that they don't even contain enough tissue for an allergy attack. Second, the metal covers are too heavy for a small step, steps sometimes break after a few weeks from stepping on them all day. Finally, all metal lids are too heavy to stay open, making plastic bags difficult to empty frequently. Plastic spouts from Sterilite don't look as pretty as metal wastebaskets. However, I gave up on a few small metal ones after using Sterilite for a few months. They take up almost as much space as metal baskets, but their interior is larger and holds more. The plastic cover on them is much lighter and less tiring to step on. The lid stays open when fully open, making it easy to empty the bag. The only downside I foresee is that the plastic will absorb odors along the way. But since I don't use them in the kitchen and dining room, I think we'll make it! I use them in the study and in rooms where they don't have to look pretty, just practical!
