This is my second purchase. The first was my mainstay for the scrub. Works equally well on both thin-skinned and thick-skinned fruits and vegetables. I wanted another one as a backup when the first one is in the dishwasher or sink. spoiled? Yes, but it's nice to have on hand and not waste time looking for it. They are superior to any other knife I have used and they are strong. My first has been working in daily use for three years. One more thing: if you've ever tried to peel a kiwi, you know that it's impossible with a straight-edged knife, but a serrated knife can easily remove the skin. The same goes for mango. If you don't have it in your kitchen right now, get it. You'll be surprised how you managed without it before.
