Best peeler All around the best peelers

This is my second purchase. The first was my mainstay for the scrub. Works equally well on both thin-skinned and thick-skinned fruits and vegetables. I wanted another one as a backup when the first one is in the dishwasher or sink. spoiled? Yes, but it's nice to have on hand and not waste time looking for it. They are superior to any other knife I have used and they are strong. My first has been working in daily use for three years. One more thing: if you've ever tried to peel a kiwi, you knowโ€ฆ

The blade is serrated and long for large jobs.

I already had this model but it was many years old so I bought another one. Blade length, notch, sharpness and clearance were the same. While not technically ergonomic with finger grooves, the handle has a curve that provides a pretty good grip. The blade of the new shape had a slightly flatter curve, making the shell very thin. I felt like I would have to clean the same spot 3 more times to get the job done. I didn't know if it was an accident or a design change. I took my pliers and veryโ€ฆ

For these reasons it is the BEST. . .

This is the best peeling bar on the market for the following reasons: First, the blade is sharp and serrated (see my added photo) which ensures the skin is initiated and the blade holds up its cut every time without error. The blade rotates for irregularly shaped vegetables like potatoes and never jumps out. The handle is more comfortable and allows you to easily manipulate the peeler on the surface of vegetables. The double edge makes it ideal for both left and right handed users. And itโ€ฆ

They don't call it the piranha peeler for nothing, razor sharp teeth!

I blame myself for not reading the reviews first, that damn sticker on the blade is there for protection I know, but it was so difficult to remove that I made the mistake of removing it with my fingers (instead of a knife blade or similar) and immediately cut your thumb deeply. This blade's serrated teeth are razor sharp. If you make the mistake of pressing on it with the flesh (e.g. on your finger), you'll cut yourself instantly. This cleaner needs a pod or something to protect itself fromโ€ฆ

LOVE that peeler in Peelers

omg this pup is SPICY! I love this little guy. I heard about Kuhn Rikon through Rivka Malka Perlman's YouTube video. She highly recommended it, so I bought it. I'm SO glad I did! That's great. I love the little ridges it leaves to keep what you're cleaning from getting slippery. Cute! I peeled the tomato for fun. And YES, it peels tomatoes. Wonderful! The only caveat I want to make is that this is NOT a toy or exercise tool! Do not let a child who has never peeled a shell use this remedy! Letโ€ฆ

Am Test Kitchen recommends serrated knives so I bought 3 of these including gifts because they were made in Switzerland (a la Swiss Army Knife). It's very sharp and easy to use BUT the company covers the blades with a sticky strip of clear tape with no edge or ability to rip it off to use without risking cutting your fingers! I used pliers, tweezers, scissors, soaked it in hot soapy water, a knife and a fingernail to try to remove it as it's just for safety. (There's a bit of irony here.)โ€ฆ

Great knife, BAD packaging

I always read 1 and 2 star reviews. I really want to see what I don't like about the things I'm looking at. There were a few 1 star reviews about how the knife blade had some sort of tape on it and it was difficult to remove. I thought how crazy it is to rate an item because of the packaging but after seeing it first hand I have to agree. The knife itself was great once I removed the tape but believe me it hurt. The peeler is VERY sharp and you will cut your fingers if you are not very careful.

  • Perfect for outdoor activities

Simply great peeling! Superior in every way.

The best peeler I've ever had! Your previous model was the best cleaning machine I've ever had until it disappeared after eight years of intensive use at work. This pirana is amazing! As a professional chef, I peel fifty kilos of asparagus every week. With a commercially available peeler, you really have to peel fibrous asparagus again and again. This scrub works the first time, every time. It will even clean a pumpkin! Kuhn Rikon developed this machine to peel even the softest fruits such asโ€ฆ
