This is a manual sweeper with rubber blades instead of brushes. The blades are sort of like rows of "mini-scrapers" that push dirt into trash cans. I've never tried it on a wet floor, but it does well for picking up Chinese elm and willow oak leaves that my dogs chase through dog doors around the house. Because it's handmade, it won't startle dogs with a lot of noise either. It is NOT QUIET, but much quieter than a vacuum cleaner. It's also much lighter and can be tucked away in a corner instead of having to be tucked away and pulled out every time. Those who prefer to hang them up can easily do so thanks to the hole at the end of the handle and they are also easy to empty. I have a variety of these Bissell manual sweepers at home so I always have one on hand in different parts of the house. I have two with brushes and two with rubber rotors. It's really easy on my back and keeps my floors relatively clean between deeper house cleanings.
