Review on Efficient Fuel Transfer with FloTool 10801 Shaker Siphon: 6' Anti-Static Tubing by Alexander Morgan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great with tools and gadgets

I bought this siphon when I got my generator last year. It's so easy and so great! I had a generator full of 8 gallons of gasoline plus another 15 gallons in cans. After a few months I had to drain the gas (yes I used a fuel stabilizer) to keep it from spoiling. This device allowed me to drain the alternator so I could work out the last few ounces without wasting a lot of gas. I also put three 5 gallon cans in my car. Without the siphon, I would have to hold and balance the canisters, which weigh about 40 pounds when full. Allow the tube to air dry before storing. How it works: The receptacle must be below the source. You stick the brass end into the source of the gas you want to vent. Insert the end of the tube into the container you wish to fill. Move the brass valve up and down a few inches, making sure it stays in the gas. The gas rises up the tube and eventually begins to suck. The valve allows the gas to rise but not back when you shake the tube up and down. The key is finding a rhythm—not too fast, not too slow—and keeping the valve fully immersed in the gas. What it doesn't do: 1. Don't drain gasoline from a car's fuel tank. There is a valve in the filling tube that prevents you from inserting the tube into the gas tank.2. It's not very fast. takes about 3. The valve will only work if it remains immersed in gas. It is almost impossible to pump gas out of a nearly empty tank. GAS IS DANGEROUS. BE CAREFUL.
