I climb all the time and always use taped gloves. My friend had a few of these and we all laughed at him until my last trip to Moab. I forgot my friend's gloves. I then proceeded to develop two large painful suckers. The next day I couldn't take it anymore and tried on these gloves. I loved her! There is no pain and everything is fine. I'm not sure about the above person's complaints. I had no problems with velcro. Didn't understand what catch? The only problem is that it takes several times to figure out how to attach the bracelet with one hand. That's the only improvement I can think of. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars. Consult an experienced climber. This is a good substitute for tape.
