A hole for the lever wasn't big enough

It wasn't easy to install and after it was almost done I connected the last lever which opened the latch from the inside and found that the hole in the part wasn't big enough for my link - i'd written about it before but didn't get an answer - everything works except that i can't open the door from the inside. how do you want to fix that?
