I don't use the video portion of this switch because I need to see all the PC monitors at all times, so I need 7 monitors on my desk. Using a mouse and keyboard switch was my main reason for purchasing this switch. It switches between PCs in 1-2 seconds each time and I switch 20-30 times a day with no problems. I found the built in USB hub to be very useful as well and a plus. I'm switching a USB hard drive to a hub and it takes about 20-30 seconds for the computer to recognize the drive after switching, but this is great for moving files between computers as they're on different networks and I that cannot transfer between them over my network connections. I have 1 computer with XP, 2 with Win7 and one with Win8.1. While I can't tell anyone how the video portion works, if you need to switch keyboard and mouse between multiple PCs, this is a great device.
