Review on πŸš— Optimized Automotive MV8000 Tune-Up Brake Bleeding by Dave Brummet

Well it really sucks

The unit delivers great vacuum performance and the main plastic parts seem well constructed but a couple of really awful design decisions make this one of the most annoying of all use devices. The handle that you squeeze to power the device is attached to the pump by a small pin that is perpendicular to the pump shaft, which is held in a slot in the plastic lever so that when the handle is squeezed, the pin rests in its place small slit goes. , and pulls out the pump, giving you a vacuum. Here's the problem: This pin is A, very small; B, mounted on a freely rotating shaft; and C, restricted in its movement by plastic. This means the pin will slip out of its hole in the pump shaft, causing the entire unit to basically fall apart in your hand, possibly when you're under the car, and it also means all the air is reinserted . that you tried to evacuate back into your hydraulic system. the pin is very tiny and the vacuum pump is actually pretty powerful which means you now have to try and pull the pump shaft far enough to put the pin back in, but at least it's all very slippery because you and he are now with brake fluid covered (and now all of a sudden it's gone in your hydraulic system). i hate this thing I hate it so much I can't even do it.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not bad most of the time but...
