The fixing kit that came with our original Thule hullers fell off during a particularly brisk ride when the kayaks twisted in the bracket and came loose. I was pleased to see an improvement in the harness connection from simple S-hooks (which have come loose) to a new replacement kit carabiner that is much more secure. However, the size of these snap hooks is a little small and it is difficult (not impossible) to hook and unhook them to the black straps that wrap around the bow and stern of the kayak. A slightly larger carabiner would have given this item 5 stars.
