Stronger than newsprint
The block I make is a 32 stud arch with a 30 stud inner arch. This base material holds up much better than paper, especially when I'm studying curves and often need to straighten seams. Even with a shorter stitch length, I can remove stitches without destroying the chain. I haven't gotten around to removing the base yet.
