Review on πŸ’» AMD Ryzen 5 2400G APU with Radeon RX Vega 11 Graphics - YD2400C5FBBOX by Omar Gonzales

Great for console level gaming and HTPC usage.

I installed this in an In Win Chopin case as a super HTPC for the living room. It's amazing for light gaming from the couch, and no longer wonders if it's possible to stream to something like Google Chromecast, given that it's a PC that's totally self-contained in that regard. I haven't overclocked anything other than 3200 RAM (definitely a requirement) as this little chip comes out of the box and runs with less cooling. If Linux support improves a bit in the 4.17 kernel, I'll switch to that, or at least dual boot. I replaced the stock cooler with a Cryorig C7 but the fan was noisy so I replaced it with a thin Rosewill 120mm fan and the temperature dropped about 10C and the system was much quieter. It only has one fan, so that was very important. I would recommend a Noctua to anyone looking for an ultra low profile cooler.

Pros
  • Something about it
Cons
  • Useless features
