I was offered the opportunity to receive a free mat in compensation for writing a fair and honest review by Stratagem.The mat itself is made of 2mm thick Neoprene - I took my tape measure to it and it is indeed 6' by 4'. On my dining room table there is a bit of overhang on the short sides - beyond that - it is a perfect fit.The artwork is excellent and varied enough to provide potential in-game terrain elements. The hex markings are easily identifiable, but also do not dominate the surface. On the topic of the hexes - they are directionally placed facing short-to-short. My preference would have been long-to-long - to truly leverage the full 6' of the game mat. Let's see what happens in the future with that.The overall quality of the game mat is high - the edging is clean, the surface itself is absent of defects, it lays quite well on the table surface, and is apparently spillproof (haven't tested that myself).It was shipped via Best Buy Prime (at no additional cost) rolled up, in a plastic bag, then inside a nylon carrying case, and then inside a sturdy cardboard shipping box. Probably the nicest packaging and shipping of a game mat I have ordered to date.I am looking forward to future releases - perhaps the same "Open Field" mat with the hexes facing in the long-to-long direction and I would love an ocean themed mat too.Likes:-High quality from artwork, material used, implementation, and shippingDislikes:-Direction of the hexes - would have preferred long-to-long versus short-to-short facing
