Review on 🚨 Kidde P3010H: Hallway Smoke Alarm with Safety Light & 10 Year Sealed Battery - Worry-Free Protection for Kids by Harry Jenkins

I am replacing numerous detectors due to a new law in Maryland requiring sealed 10 year batteries. First Alerts had the best rating so I ordered 6 - one for each bedroom. I simply loosened the screws on the old detectors and removed them, and in about 2 minutes each, without drilling a single hole, I installed the new detectors using the existing hole locations. I wanted a Kidde hall light at the top of the stairs. This requires an entirely unnecessary single hole mount that doesn't work, and requires drilling a pilot hole for the large plastic mounting screw mechanism that was needed to mount this detector in the drywall ceiling. After the bracket has been screwed to the ceiling, the detector must be screwed on. But it takes so much force that he screws the bracket in further, creating a larger hole. If you then need to remove the sensor from the mount, e.g. B. painting, the hole in the fastening mechanism comes out. Basically I had to attach the sensor to the bracket and then screw the bracket to the ceiling. Very bad design. Also, the first alerts were issued in December 2017, they are less than a month old. Kidde was made in October 2016 or is 14 months old. I cannot recommend Kidde-Design.
