Here are my thoughts after months of hard use: - This ball head can take quite a bit of weight: d800 +80-200 f/2.8 does not pause. Fits perfectly, no slipping. The tension knob works well, but the first 3-4 tension adjustments are pretty much useless, basically no tension at all. I always have a very specific score between 7 and 8 that seems ideal. Smooth panning and moving. The build quality is excellent. I hit him against trees, stones, threw him into the Atlantic, left him in the snow for 2 hours, the temperature was up to -10. Still works great. Nice high quality metal. For what you pay this is an excellent ball head. I used it against my friend's RRS 40mm, which is clearly designed for this and does not lose its relevance. Don't get me wrong, the RRS is still slightly better than this ball head, but its price on ebay is three times higher than a used one. Time will tell how this ball head holds up but so far I haven't seen anything broken and I'm very happy with the purchase. If you're looking for a $100 ball head, this is it.
