The Desmond DLOW-40 is a compact ball head that can handle heavy loads, especially when using a large telephoto lens like the Sigma 60-600mm Sports. I don't usually write reviews but this is such a great ballhead for the money. I've had 4-5 heads in the $20 to $250 range and this is by far my best result. It's rock solid, but the best part is that it locks in half a turn! This makes using it an absolute dream. Here are my thoughts after months of hard use: - This ball head can take quite a bit of weight: d800 +80-200 f/2.8 does not pause. Fits perfectly, no slipping.
