The Desmond DLOW-40 is a compact ball head that can handle heavy loads, especially when using a large telephoto lens like the Sigma 60-600mm Sports. This head has the same features as the DLOW-55 but in a more compact package. I like that I can rotate the ball head from left to right, which is very useful in situations especially when I don't need to move the tripod. The ball head adjusts easily and I don't feel any strain. while I turn the knobs. I love the fact that the DLOW-40 includes a Swiss Arca plate, adjustment key and even a case. I prefer this over the Really Right Stuff BH-55, it's lighter, easier to use and won't break the bank.
