I don't know about your baby but ours likes to tuck in her toes when we put her shoes on, making it very difficult for her to put on slippers without laces. The Velcro Mary Jane style is very easy to put on and now our little one is excited that we are going for a walk looking for her shoes! That tells me they are comfortable on her feet as she hates anything remotely uncomfortable. She also had fun learning how to use Velcro. Very happy with them. After almost 3 weeks of walking they still look pretty good, although she occasionally stumbles while crawling on the pavement (when she's tired or crouches down and notices a leaf/rock to inspect).
