Works much better than Viralys

I have used this on my rescued kitten who is now about a year and a half. Weeping Eye of Relief Society. Rescuers told me it would resolve (but didn't mention FHV) and didn't take eye medication until I needed it because it's expensive. (It wasn't expensive. It was $20. But I didn't get it because I thought her eye would clear like they said. It doesn't, so it looks like the tear duct is damaged , as it does not drain If I had treated her sooner she would no doubt be in better shape now. This rescue has taught her adoptive parents to be cheap with their new family member! This is a real disservice to my little girl whose quality of life has been greatly improved would be today if only I could take proper care of her by getting this eye medication right away. Very disappointed with this rescue.) I have purchased another can of NOW Lysine and will continue to use it in the future. My vet said she "thinks" it's FHV, but there's no way to confirm this. A friend recommended lysine and it worked wonders. My vet never mentioned lysine. Antibiotics and eye drops really don't help much. My little girl is fine as soon as I give her Lysine back to NOW. Fun fact: I gave this to all my cats. In parallel, I adopted another kitten - a fluffy gray boy, maybe there is a little Russian blueness in it. I learned that lysine can interfere with the absorption of L-arginine in cats, which is essential for urinary tract health. Since Russian Blues have urinary problems, I stopped giving it to my cat. He seems healthy and although he had a cough previously, he doesn't seem to have an FHV issue, so I'm no longer treating him with lysine. He and our older cat developed respiratory symptoms but they seem to have cleared the virus. Just a warning that lysine can cause problems in cats with urinary problems.
