Review on VIDBOX VCS2M Video Conversion Suite by Dany Meadows

I followed all the instructions and it works really easy. I downloaded the software from the website instead of using the disc that came with it as many of the reviews recommended it. Easy setup to transfer your old tapes. As the title says. It's great when it works. The only problem is that I estimate it doesn't work 30 percent of the time. There is a shot and somewhere before the end the video hangs on the frame. Audio will continue to be recorded on your computer. I won't be installing the 2 hour tape and watching it stream, so I'll be checking in occasionally to see if it's still running. Sometimes it ends. Sometimes not. Then you just do it all over again. I tried starting by restarting the Mac and making sure everything was working, then set it up and started recording. It can work well with two bands, but it can get stuck on the first one. I bought this because of the good reviews. It's not cheap, but it's worth it if you're transferring all your old family tapes. I'll just keep digging into it and eventually finish all my notes. It would be nice if I only had to transfer each tape once.
