It's something I've dreamed of for many years and last December when my mum gave it to me I said I could actually use it if the power went out during Hurricane Sandy. It contains the essentials that are needed in an emergency. AM/FM/weather radio, LED flashlight and a way to keep your cell phone on. It has a lithium battery, unlike cheaper devices that only have rechargeable NiMH batteries. The device has a built-in generator so that the radio, light and cell phone charger can work indefinitely. I was so impressed that I bought one for my aunt and uncle to use when storms hit our territory in the future. Winters here (Philadelphia metropolitan area) often experience storms and high winds that often knock out power. The manufacturer produces a number of similar devices, some cheaper and some more expensive, but these devices are marked by the American Red Cross. Logo, so ARC must have blessed these devices for some reason.
