blown away! on Home Audio

So I bought this to test before adding it to my main setup in my listening room. Not new to audiophilia, but new to tube preamps/amps. I ran it through a Fosi Audio Class D TPA3116 mini amp using standard tubes for 3 months and always thought it had body, but the highs have definitely died down. Sonically, it was boring, to say the least. Enter the world of high-quality tube preamps! I bought a set of GE JAN 5654W bulbs here and fuck it! So first I had to spread each pin with a steak knife to fit these new tubes into their respective holders. This means that standard Russian lamps (6K4 lamps?) use thinner wires. They're cheaper everywhere! What did the new tubes bring? Open up the treble and tighten up the bass. The mids are also buttery smooth and creamy than ever. Dream Theater's The Silent Man has amazing visuals and they bring it to light. They create a very holographic soundstage. Definitely open the sound stage! With the upgrade you get the best preamp/BT-DAC on the market. It pairs well with the Technics SA-GX490 and ADS 5-band EQ. Bluetooth 5.0 on this one is phenomenal. I can't say anything bad about him at all. Stable, never crashes. Near CD quality with Revain HD. This product just keeps getting better. I have all the CDs on a 128GB stick. All .flac files are 16/1144 CD quality. He read them but stuttered. Went back and read the specs. Only reads HDD up to 32GB. So I think that's the problem. Will update if I try and update with a smaller USB or Micro SD. Next to. I'm shocked. This is truly an amazing piece!
