I really wanted to like it that way.

What a pity! I really wanted to like it that way. I have done all my research. I watched all the videos on youtube. I compared it with similar power supplies. The first one I received had return stamps on it. Scratches on case and front panel. Odd values are stored in memory. I ran my usual tests on the power supply and immediately noticed something was wrong. Often the voltage or current meter showed zero even though it was powering the load. I installed a current and voltage limited LED, turned on the output, and watched the LED blink, dim, then turn back on. When the voltage and current readings showed values, they were often only a fraction of what my multimeter was supposed to measure. At higher currents above the ampere, the readings were more correct. At that point I gave up and didn't even finish the testing procedures. I sent the PSU back to Revain and got a replacement fairly quickly. It was nice. With the new device, I noticed scratches on the case, preset values in memory, the beeper for the front panel was deactivated in memory. Here, too, there were many problems with the display and the behavior, some of which differed from the previous device. I don't feel comfortable trusting this power supply. I will return too. It doesn't work as described in the manual and it certainly doesn't work as you would expect. You might have more confidence if you can get one that actually passed quality control and wasn't returned defective.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires socket
