I like that it fits my vacuum cleaner hose and does a good job of catching excess water from the pan under the plants. I have a large tray that is about 2" x 4" and has a plastic grid on the bottom of the tray that is the same size as the tray. I have cloth pots on this trellis with small holes (about 1 inch) to allow excess water dripping from the pots to reach the bottom of the tray and keep the pots and plant roots in the pots so they don't get stuck in the water. cause root rot. This bracket penetrates through the holes and allows me to "suck" the water out of the tray so that excess water doesn't add extra moisture to the area where the plants are growing. It's perfect for what I need and has all the suction power I need to scoop up water. It's worth what I paid.
