Bought a tool to diagnose minor coolant leaks in my 1998 Toyota 4runner with 180,000 miles. Less than 2 minutes after connecting the Mityvac and about 4 pressure pumps a jet of coolant shot out of the leaking hose and almost hit my eye, problem solved. I struggled for weeks and couldn't find the leak with the engine running because the problematic hose was under the air intake, dripping onto the top of the engine and vaporizing before I could find it. After replacing the leaking hose, I was able to retest the cooling system by pumping it up to 17psi as per the Toyota service manual. With the cost of the Mityvac, a new hose, engine coolant and distilled water, the repair cost less than $100 and took very little time. Now I'm confident on the road again and, most importantly, my wife is no longer afraid to get in or drive a car. My goal is to ride at least 200,000 miles on the 4runner because it still looks and performs great. I also have a MityVac brake bleeder and would highly recommend it as it makes it easier to self bleed brake lines as I have had to do in the past.
