Review on Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM FLD Lens: Large Aperture Standard Zoom for Canon DSLR - International Version (No Warranty) by Adam Czajkowski ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like it, thank you for the quality product.

And so. I took this model to replace a similar tamron without a stub. I came across thiscompy with a pronounced back focus. if it were not for the 7d camera in which there is an adjustment, I would have thrown this lens to hell. Many people write that HSM is fast almost like USM garbage ! once again I wascomnvinced of the opposite. the tamron was faster, although it squealed. andcomped better with focusing in dark places. The picture is juicier and the bokeh is nicer at 50mm F2.8 on this sigma. In general, a good staffer if there are no problems with focus. pics

Pros
  • - aperture 2.8 -good build quality -stub -good bokeh for zoom -heavy - picture is good overall -sharp especially at f4
Cons
  • - front-back focus is very common on these models - the zoom ring rotates in the opposite direction, unlike other lenses, it is inconvenient for me - in dark places, the focus prowls and cannot find anything - at 17mm, terrible distortion -Chromatic aberrations at 2.8 but this is on all almost cheap zooms with such aperture
