Review on 🐠 Enhance Your Aquarium's CO2 Control with MagTool Dual Stage Regulator: Adjustable Pressure, DC Solenoid, and Expendable Manifold by Ronald Corcoran

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best low cost two stage CO2 regulator.

I have an ADA 90 P tank and used an Aquatek regulator with a paintball tank until I found this Magtool regulator to upgrade it to a 5lb CO2 tank. For its price range, the controller is very well made and durable. I've been using it for about 5 days now and the bubble count is stable. The solenoid is a 12V DC cold touch solenoid and turns on without delay. It can compete with some other expensive brands. Pros: 1. This regulator comes with a standard CGA320 fitting that screws onto standard CO2 tanks like the 5lb tank I chose. 5lb tank means shorter refill trips.2. The regulator comes with two levels of adjustment and two gauges to monitor cylinder pressure and working pressure. In addition, the supply pressure is adjustable. The two-stage regulator maintains constant feed pressure and eliminates the possibility of CO2 venting at the end of the tank that could harm your fish. Single stage discharge at the end of the tank, it's always a good idea to use a two stage system.3. The controller comes with a solenoid that operates on a 12V DC power supply. It is safer than a 120V solenoid when you work near water. If the power fails, it is easy to replace.4. The regulator comes with two needle valves and bubble counters ie expandable manifold and you can have up to 5 of these units depending on the size of your CO2 tank as the operating pressure will decrease with each unit added. They appear to be precision-made valves that allow precise control of the flow of CO2. They seem to be fairly stable in the sense that when CO2 is turned on in the morning the flow rate is the same as the day before.5. The regulator comes with a built in rubber seal and does not require the nylon washers used in other similar systems. The rubber gasket provides a better seal to prevent CO2.6 leakage. The needle setting is accurate as it has been working for about 5 days. I didn't have to adjust the needle valve. The number of bubbles is stable.7. The price is ok compared to other similar two-stage regulators. Cons: none yet. If I run into any problem I will definitely update the review here.
