Review on High-Quality HVAC Heater Control Water Valve for Jaguar S-Type, Ford Thunderbird, Lincoln LS – 1147412148 (2000-2003) by Ronnie Dunn

Fits 2001 Jaguar S Type 4.0 and some good instructions

Fits 2001 Jaguar S Type 4.0 exactly. The quality is similar to the fake I got about 4 years ago bought years ago. Take your time removing the old one. Remove the fender under the front of the car. Remove 2 lower clips. The 3 lines that go to the metal lines must be removed from the top, removed from the metal tube, do not attempt to remove them from the valve block. This will never happen! When removing the metal cords compressing the brackets, I used a large screwdriver to pry them out. BEWARE, there are 2 o-rings and a teflon ring in the 2 small metal lines, I had nothing on the larger metal line. As you can see there are 2 screws on the block. I used an offset nozzle with an extension and a head length of 10mm. You feel blind! Use your hands, not your eyes, to eliminate first 1, second pain! It's a grub screw, so if you can loosen it, don't remove it, it wobbles. I couldn't get this one off so I used a long needle point and asked for some rubber on the old block and then finally removed the clamp. Move the device to the center of the vehicle and be careful and patient when exiting the vehicle. Switch the lines to the new unit, keep the direction of the lines, I used red cross to center the lines so I know where the center is. What matters is how they come back. I just used the old clamps on the top lines and the new screw clamps on the bottom lines. Attach the wire clip. Use aloe lotion on bottom lines to soften and apply to lines and device. Reinstall the top 3 lines, it's not that easy to squeeze them back in, so "patience" again. Screw to the front of the car: I cut a slot in the bracket just to attach it. Cut a hole in the bracket from 2 sides of the hole and make it look like an overlay. So I installed the screw and just put the block on, pre-install of course. Fuel and burp your vehicle properly. If you try the AC: if it just blows hot, check the fuse, mine blew and that's a common problem on new installs. I thought the block wouldn't work but after some research it all came back to be a fuse. I've read a few reviews of a damaged device, but maybe that's it. Take your time! Be patient! Not too difficult considering where the device is located. Check out the blog or forum for your vehicle type, it will help if you're worried about getting it done. Happy spinning!
