I bought this for my first paintball game. It's lightweight and I was initially skeptical of how much protection it would offer. I first tested the airsoft rifle at 300 fps from about 40 feet. The balls bounced off immediately and I didn't feel anything. You hear the beat more than you feel it. FYI if you are using this for airsoft wear it under your shirt or other clothing. At close range, the bullets penetrate material or even cut into the vest. In paintball, the impact is a little more noticeable, but you don't feel it either. The vest did exactly what I wanted.
