Some filters work best with an outlet. Some of them work best if you stick a long screwdriver in them. Some work best with a steel band. For filters that are placed so you can only get to the end, and especially where you don't have the right nut (or the nut just comes loose at the end of the filter), this strap wrench (and other similar ones) will work very good, very ok. This is undeniable unless the filter outside is completely filled with oil, and even then I'm not sure. I wish I had bought one of these forty years ago. Today it's a staple for my 2019 Honda; There is simply no other way to remove the old filter from this machine.
