Review on 🐶 Petrainer PET616A: Waterproof Remote Dog Training Collar with Beep, Vibrate & Static Functions - Rechargeable, Effective Training Solution by Theresa Grieve

My remote broke (charge stopped) but the seller sent a replacement very quickly! I am planning to fix the old remote control so my wife and I can each have one. When dismantling a defective remote control, the cause was a defective (leaking) battery. The included battery (180 mAh if memory is enough) is significantly smaller than the cavity in the remote control. Although the original battery lasted about a week on a single charge, I'll try replacing the battery in my original remote with the 501646 model - a 350mAh battery - about twice the battery life - and maybe a little more range. The device made a well-made impression when I disassembled it. It is protected from water by a rubber seal (pictured). All keys are covered with rubber strips. It is constructed with screws and has soldered or JST connectors. The JST connectors are also glued: great attention to detail! The only weakness I see for water ingress is the knob for adjusting the stimulation strength. I would have preferred buttons for this, but the dial is easy enough to operate with gloves on. Both the collar and the remote come with quality control stickers - nice to see on any electronics in this price range. The collar is strong - and the vibration strength is adjustable via the remote, which is nice. I want the collar tone to be louder. We've used the sound on another collar to help locate our dog in the dark and it's just too quiet for that, although the dog can certainly hear it when wearing it. The belt clip on the remote control is good too, although I would have preferred a steel clip to a plastic one, and the clip doesn't open wide enough to attach a large belt or thick nylon strap. Overall we are pleased with the quality of both the collar and remote control and are very pleased with the prompt customer service we received after our first device failed. First Review: This product worked fine for a while, but after a few months the remote control stopped charging. I will contact the seller and see if they are willing to send a replacement, in which case I will change this rating.
