FYI I have 1 broken, original key fob for my Equinox. The rotating part is cracked.1. I took the new key fob, removed the pin from the key and pulled it out. One was easy to do, the other was impossible and I've never done it.2. I went to the car with the old and new key fob and have already cut out key3. I turned the ignition on/off and erased it with the old key.4. I put the old key back in and used the new key fob to turn the switch on. waited 10 seconds. Powered off and the key fob has been programmed.5. The problems started when I tried to put the old key in the new key fob. The bases differ in length by a few millimeters. I had to use metal files and get creative with the pencil because it wouldn't go back in. This way I saved $180 and I have 1 working key. After spending an hour looking for a laser cut point I got a $60 offer from Chevrolet to cut the 2 blanks that came with it.
