Out of the box (with solid base) the shortest tip construction gave me good results at 2m and 70cm. 6M is not very good. I was able to get good results even without grounding, but with a much higher SWR. After trimming the tip about 40mm I was able to trim it just enough to get balanced performance across all 4 stressed areas as well as "useful" at 1.25. M, but not very well. If you don't have access to a good tuner you can probably get pretty darn close results by setting the tip to 19.5mm measured from the base of the ball to the top of the clamp. Use this outside of 2m/70cm unless you have a perfect ground plane. Update #1: Folds up when driving on the Autobahn. Maybe because of the impact of the truck body, maybe because of the wind load, I don't know. I will write it off in 1 day and it will fit on a caravan and be transported folded. Let's try the Comet UHV-4, which has a threaded locking ring to prevent unplanned collapses.
