How it sounds: I love how the Rode Procaster picks up the spoken voice. Very flat with no peaks in frequency response. It has excellent background noise cancellation, at least in my harsh environment. Of the two mics I tried, the Procaster was my favorite. Sensitivity is a bit low so make sure you have a good preamp or audio interface with enough gain and low noise. This is an XLR microphone and requires an audio interface to work with a computer. I use a Motu M2 and it works great with this mic and I didn't need a cloudlifter or fethead. Construction: The microphone has a solid all-metal construction. It comes with a heavy-duty plastic mic stand ring and a 3/8'-5/8" adapter.
