"I ain't got time to bleed "

Oh. Wait. Yes, I do -- when I shower and use this brush. Not every time but often enough now that I'm looking for a replacement. So, okay, here's the point: if you have sensitive skin, I don't think this brush is a good choice. If that's all you want to know, you can stop reading this now. Otherwise, here's the story:I'm an older male and have a normal amount of intelligence (wait, did I just contradict myself?) but it took me a while to figure it out. See, I bought this to take to the club and I only used it a couple of times when I work out (3x a week swimming) but then they closed the club for the medical 'crisis' that's upon us. When I did use it there, I found blood on my towels afterwards -- but I assumed I must have cut myself shaving since I shave in the shower before bathing. It took a few weeks to remember it was still in my swim bag and I just started using it at home where I'm forced to workout until further notice. And I'm lathering up pretty good to keep the bugs at bay. Still, every couple of showers, I spot blood on the towels and such -- now that I'm paying attention, I find that I'm bleeding on my back and, er, ahem, other areas after using the brush. I don't think a vigorous scrub should leave one bleeding. A little pinkish in the skin maybe but definitely no blood. To be fair, the bristles feel soft enough to the touch but they are synthetic so maybe they have sharp little tips or something. Having almost met my maker a couple of years ago when I threw multiple blood clots into my lung I'm on blood thinners which means bleeding of any kind is a big deal. Since I've got to assume blood has come in contact with the brush, I don't feel right about returning it. But I can't find a way to communicate with the vendor.Other, admittedly minor, gripes are the usual 'the handle could be longer'; again, I'm a male and I'm blessed with short arms so . . . . well, you get the point. Also, when nice a sudsy, the thing is kinda hard to grip so some sort of anti-slip would be helpful. Then again, at this price point you got to expect fewer frills.

Pros
  • It seemed to be very light weight.
Cons
  • The brush may cause excess irritation on sunburned or inflamed skin
