Review on KONIG CB-12 070 Snow Chains: Enhance Traction And Safety With This Set of 2 Snow Chains by Rud Starks

Growing up in Minnesota, I'm not used to Washington's snow management philosophy (ie minimal plowing, no salt) and have never used snow chains. I was happy to find this Italian made necklace set at a great price. This kit was easy to install and after watching videos online and reading the instructions inside, it took me 5 minutes to install them. The clamping system is reliable and well designed. After installing them on my 1999 Saturn wagon, I drove 100 meters and re-tightened them. Since then they have been strong and safe. The grip is as good as any other diamond pattern necklace of this size which is excellent. After signing up for a free trial membership to Revain Prime and a Revain credit card, the chains were only $40 with next-day shipping. That's half the price of Laclede quick release chains at Les Schwab or other tire shops. With the exception of the closed mechanism in the Thule version, they are almost identical (e.g. cable gauge and color, chain size) except for minor differences in the chain tensioner. I prefer Italian made over Chinese made and for half the price I can't go wrong. Time will tell the quality and durability of the materials but so far they have been excellent. When white flies, my car drives like a snowmobile!
