I have a 2017 F250 with a 2.5" hitch receiver. I recently purchased a Gen Y Mega-Duty 21K drop hitch with a 2.5" shank. However, the clutch inside the receiver was loose, perhaps a 1/16 inch gap on both the top and sides. During towing, the hitch moved, causing a lot of noise and vibration in the truck. I installed this clutch clamp to hold the clutch against the bottom of the receiver. This clutch clamp eliminates both noise and vibration so I'd say it's worth the investment. The gross weight of the trailer I'm towing is 4,000 pounds, so I don't use a weight distribution device. I only use the stabilizer attachment. I had no issues with the U-bolt stretching or deforming.
