I have a 2017 F250 with a 2.5" hitch receiver. I recently purchased a Gen Y Mega-Duty 21K drop hitch with a 2.5" shank. However, the clutch inside the receiver was loose, perhaps a 1/16 inch gap on both the top and sides. During towing, the hitch moved, causing a lot of noise and vibration in the truck. I gave this 4 stars because the idea behind this product is great - secure the hitch in the receiver tube to keep it from rattling. This works great as long as there is enough room in your hitch receiver for proper alignment of the strut. This clamp WILL NOT WORK on a 2014 RAM with an OEM Class V hitch receiver. There is insufficient clearance between the underside of the hitch receiver and the safety chain brackets. The correct way to use this clip is a loop around the bottom of the receiver…
