So my boss takes me to his office and says he has a generator that he wants to give me as a gift. "Amazing," I say, and we agree on a time when he can bring it. I don't lose much power but I know some people who do and it would be nice to have a decent alternator. Is free. So he brings this generator with him, which turns out to be an old Generac. Seemed to be in good shape but didn't start. I watch a lot of Mustie1's videos so I think I can take on this project. Check sparks, yes. Put a few drops of fuel in the cylinder, change the spark plug and boom, it ignites instantly. So I think it needs a carburetor cleaning. I pull out the carburetor and drop the bowl to find it FILLED with dirt and rust. I mean PACKED. I can't believe it ever worked at all. So I'm taking this carb apart and throwing it in the cleaner. When I pulled it out I could clearly see the pitted metal and holes in the bowl. This carbohydrate was incorrigible. So here I come. This carburettor was supplied with several filters. Insert it and vroom. purring like a kitten. and for the price I could just replace the carb without cleaning the next time my boss offers me something free that includes a small motor.
