Review on ๐Ÿ“ธ Nikon SB-400 AF Speedlight Flash: Perfect Lighting Solution for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras by Michael Robertson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great compact flash

Update: February 16, 2017: Bought a second SB-400 as a backup and love it. at once. Yes, it's overpriced, but the time I saved editing in Photoshop is priceless. Original Rating: Bought about 8 years ago to have a little flash while on holiday. I was so impressed with this flash that I started using it in my photo shoots, leaving behind some of my larger 600/800 flashes. The quality and exposure was always close to perfect, making my editing work easier. But a few months ago it stopped working. I paid about $125 for it but found Nikon had discontinued it and prices had skyrocketed to over $200! I bought some Chinese iTTL flashes which were compact and seemed to work. But the exposures were so impractical that I couldn't use them. Collapsed and bought 200 more for over $200. I hope it lasts as long as my first one. I like its compact size and even with this simple flash I get as good exposures at 25ft as I can with my 600/800 units. It is easy to carry in your pocket and does not require batteries, just use lithium batteries. Recommend this flash if you find a new one.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Crumpled

This is a fantastic flash, with little options
